DESCRIPTION:The Township of Langley Economic Forum is being held on Thursday\, November 5 at the Langley Events Centre from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. It’s free to attend and includes a luncheon. \nThis year’s forum theme focuses on an emerging need that stretches across Canada and that is the need for adaptable / age-friendly housing. \nPopulation predictions over the next thirty years indicate that the Township of Langley will double in population\, to over 230\,000 residents\, making it one of the fastest growing municipalities in British Columbia. Diversification\, on many levels\, including services\, infrastructure\, development\, economy… and more will remain at the forefront as the Township strives to meet its vision and goals for sustainability. The design and construction of adaptable housing in our community plays an important role to enable citizens to experience quality of life as their needs evolve. Age-friendly development is equally integral to the Township of Langley developing a balanced\, responsible and sustainable community that is rich in livability and vibrancy\, as it equally promotes fiscal stability and economic growth. \nThe Township has lined up industry experts to tackle questions on the needs around aging in place\, and they’ve also secured a panel featuring local developers sharing successes about profitable adaptable housing projects. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday Nov. 12 as Cpl. Mohammad Beyhaghi\, Langley RCMP’s Community Liaison Officer for Aldergrove\, presents on “Preventing Theft & Shoplifting in Aldergrove”. A representative from the Bank of Canada will also be attending to provide information on how to detect fake currency\, and the two will share other useful tips on how to prevent shoplifting / theft and how to deal with suspects. \nThe presentation will be a shortened version of a longer\, more comprehensive one that Cpl. Beyhaghi is offering to all Aldergrove businesses and their employees. Participating businesses will also receive campaign buttons for their employees to wear through the week.
