Volunteers will be picking litter on our streets\, parks\, trails\, and creeks across the Township. In Aldergrove\, a particular area of focus will be the downtown business core (Fraser Hwy. from 276th St. to 262nd St.\, and 272nd St. between 32nd Ave. and 28th Ave.). By participating in Clean Up Langley Day\, you can be part of a team effort to keep our communities clean and remove harmful litter from our environment.  \nVolunteers can meet in front of the Extra Foods on 272nd Street north of Fraser Highway anytime between 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. DESCRIPTION:In honour of Earth Day\, the ABA is hosting the Aldergrove edition of the Fourth Annual Clean Up Langley Day on Saturday April 25\, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  \nWe need your help! Volunteers will be picking up litter on our streets\, parks\, trails\, and creeks across the Township. In Aldergrove\, a particular area of focus will be the downtown business core (Fraser Hwy. from 276th St. to 262nd St.\, and 272nd St. between 32nd Ave. and 28th Ave.). By participating in Cleanup Langley Day\, you can be part of a team effort to keep our communities clean and remove harmful litter from our environment.  \nVolunteers can meet in front of the Extra Foods on 272nd Street north of Fraser Highway starting at 9:00 am. DESCRIPTION:Easter is meant to be a joyous time of year\, but for children in our community experiencing emotional or financial hardships\, the upcoming Easter holiday can be a challenging time. In an attempt to bring a little happiness this Easter\, local Discovery Toys Educational Consultants are acquiring charitable donations to assemble Easter baskets for children of single moms who belong to the YWCA and Encompass’ Single Mothers Group. \nThe coordinators are asking individuals and businesses throughout the community to contribute $30 for each basket. Sponsors who donate over $100 will have their name/logo posted on our Facebook website banner and ads (tax receipts available upon request for donations over $100). The event\, held during Alzheimer Awareness Month\, will raise money for the Alzheimer Society of BC. \nThe walk will take place rain or shine; supporters are invited to come to the Aldergrove park to draw attention to the need for more research into dementia\, for more facilities and support for caregivers\, and for the money to achieve these goals. There will be music\, food and entertainment\, as well as dementia information and resources.
